It’s time to chill out and get comfortable with the latest fall fashions. Fitted is in. Fitted jackets and dresses show off feminine curves and give waistlines to boyish figures. Ruffles were all over the runway at New York Fashion Week. From ruffled dresses and blouses, boots and shoes, to totes and handbags, the floaty, romantic look of the ruffle is very much in style. And boots, from short booties to thigh highs, dress your feet to hit the street.
The leaves are turning yellow, gold, and red but November fashion trends toward black and white, grey, purple, indigo, royal blue, metallic, darker browns, and darker reds. Prepare to slip into the rich fabrics of the season like mohair, velvet, tweed, and leather. Look back a couple of decades for today’s style. The influence of the 80’s will be in full force with peplums, wide shoulders, and draped dresses and tops in flowing fabrics with an emphasis on a shapely waist.
Jeans will continue to be a staple. In November, make the scene with Skinny Jeans. Accessorize with colorful scarves and gloves in darker hues.
Simple is in when it comes to jewelry; wear one or two pieces at a time. Bejewel yourself with purple rings and red pendants.
November is full of fun fashion possibilities.

Take a stroll in the coolest new trend in footwear and show some toe while you’re at it. The peep-toe bootie is a super fusion of the ankle boot and peek-toe pump all in one cute little boot. Last year, shoe booties were a fashion must have. Designers blended a stylish ‘80s flair along with chunky or slim heels. These chic hybrids made the rounds on the runways during New York Fashion Week previews so they’re bound to be a hit when you step into the scene at work or play. The hip bootie’s open-toe makes it a shoe-in for a walk on the sexy side of the street and opens the door for comfort in warmer weather. Wear them with shorts and an off-the shoulder top or light sweater.
When the chill strides in, add tights or leggings or skinny jeans tucked into the shoes. Wear with a sweater dress or long tunic. Perfect for the office; wear them with a pencil skirt and solid colored button-up shirt and cardigan.
Gossip Girl’s lovely Blake Lively was spotted at a post Emmy shindig sporting an in-again 80’s retro black dress with a pair of black peep-toe booties.
update: November 9
Speaking of peep-toe booties, we thought you’d enjoy seeing them as modeled by the always cutting edge Jenny Humphrey!

Leggings are not only a young Hollywood trend for celebs like 90210’s Shenae Grimes, spotted wearing the black, multi zipper variety. They’ve become a hotter-than-ever mainstream accessory. Fashionistas everywhere are saying that leggings are a must have for fall.
This season’s leg-wear kicks it up a notch with rich patterns and bright hues. Striding fashion runways everywhere in basic black to denim to wild designs and colors, leggings have come a long way from their ‘80s roots. Wear leggings with longer tops like a boyfriend blazer or chunky knit sweater. Replace tights with leggings and wear with a skirt or dress. Pumps and ankle boots are the hottest pairing for your leggings this fall.
For the more adventuresome, flashy leggings are a fun way to strut your stuff. If you decide to walk on the wild side, graphics and powerful prints make a bold statement. Choose basic apparel to complete your look. The fashion statement of the season is to wear them with oversized tees, long shirts or colorful tunic-style dresses.
Still can’t make up your mind? Add Jeggings to the list. A combination of skinny jeans and leggings, these hybrids have recently emerged as new trends to dress your stems.

We know that vampires are primarily interested in drinking blood. But, what about their fashion sensibilities? In “Vampire Diaries,” Mystic Falls, Virginia, the obvious answer is…leather. Leather jackets to be exact. Most of the fans are crazy over the motorcross style leather jacket worn by Elena. With its stand up collar and three-quarter sleeve, the audience took notice. Fans of Stefan’s style appreciate his lightweight designer leather jacket with epaulettes. And of course, the dark and brooding Damon fittingly sports a black leather jacket with standard collar and pockets with flaps. The leather jacket is a fashion statement that’s always in fashion. Classic leather jackets are timeless. Medium length jackets are the most versatile but anything from maxi to bomber jackets defy trends and let you define your own style. Popular colors for leather jackets are the traditional black and brown. The residents of Mystic Falls always lean toward trendy outerwear. Expect anything from shiny, retro-feel blazers, sleek motorcross designs or long trenches. This fall, leather jackets are a hip and sexy sensation but the truth is they never go out of style.

Buffalo Plaid is not just for lumberjacks anymore. This season, Buffalo Plaid chic trumps the bygone grunge era and emerges as its own hot new trend. Traditionally found in red and black, buffalo plaid is a plaid of two colors in large squares. These bold plaids are everywhere, worn mainly in oversize tops with fitted pants or leggings. Aside from being hip and edgy, plaid is also classic. Just like comfort food, it satisfies our yearning for simplicity and tradition. Expect to see Buffalo Plaid on all sorts of garments in a variety of colors this fall. And girls, don’t be afraid to venture into the young men’s department. A small or medium man’s shirt looks terrific with skinny jeans and embellished flats. These plaids make a powerful statement so be careful to compliment your plaid with fashion on the quiet side. Pair a plaid garment with solid clothing, accessories, and shoes. You can’t go wrong with a buffalo-plaid long sleeve top and jeans. For evening, opt for a plaid tunic dress with tights or leggings. Go edgy with a couple of other items, like biker boots and fun jewelry.
